Warren Michelson was re-elected in 2016 to represent the constituency of Moose Jaw North, serving his third term as a member of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly.
First elected in 2007, Warren has been involved with Moose Jaw citizens through his constituency participation and work on several Government Standing Committees including Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice, Public Accounts, and Legislative Secretary to the Minister of the Economy for Manufacturing. Warren’s representation and determination was influential in the government decision to construct the new Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, which opened in October of 2015.
Warren is the Vice-Chair of the Legislation and Regulation Review Committee. He continues to serve on the Public Accounts committee. He also serves as co-chair of the Saskatchewan Construction Panel, in support of a stable and healthy Saskatchewan Construction Industry.
Warren’s knowledge and experience include over 25 years in the communication industry, including television, radio and newspaper, in a variety of management positions.
Warren’s business interests included leadership in the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, serving as provincial president in 2004-05, and as part of the “Action Saskatchewan 2005” movement to improve the business quality climate in the province. From 2000 to 2006, Warren also held a seat on the Senate of the University of Regina.
He is committed to community volunteer service as a past Member of the Moose Jaw Hospital Foundation Board, and past director of the Moose Jaw Chamber of Commerce. He takes an active part in the lay ministries at his church.
His many accomplishments and leadership capabilities were recognized in the Saskatchewan Business Magazine in 2004, when he was acknowledged as one of “Saskatchewan’s Men of Influence”.
Warren and his wife Debbie have four adult children and six grandchildren, all living in Saskatchewan.
